Minecraft isn’t just breaking blocks and fighting… it’s also about style! Terracotta is one of the most sought-after blocks in the game due to all its variants.
You can find basic, white, red, brown, yellow, light gray, and orange Terracotta in badlands biome types. The biomes themselves are rare, but inside you can find plenty of Terracotta!
If you’re not able to find a badlands biome, no worries you can also create some!
Terracotta is crafted from clay blocks. You can find clay in rivers, swamps, and shallow water, it’s often accompanied by sand. Once you create the clay blocks you will then bake them in the furnace, this will produce Plain Terracotta.
Now comes the fun part, you can dye Terracotta! You are not able to change the color of a block that has already been dyed. To color your Terracotta you need to open up the Crafting Table in Minecraft. You will need one Dye for every eight pieces of Terracotta. Add them to the grid as shown below:
If you cook Terracotta in the furnace a second time you can create Glazed Terracotta Blocks! There are 16 unique glazed blocks that you can cook up, which means there are a total of 33 different variations of Terracotta. It’s perfect to fancy up your Minecraft house and builds!
Note: You are not able to glaze Plain Terracotta.
