The Minehut Ranks Guide provides an overview of ranks and how to use and obtain them.
Overview
Ranks are in-game nametags that give you a variety of perks. There are several different types, including Paid (Player and Server Owner), Special, & OG Ranks.
Paid Ranks
Paid Ranks are subscription that can be purchased from the Rank Shop. There are specific ranks for Players and Server Owners.

Equip Ranks in the Minehut Lobby
Step 1: Purchase a Rank
If you don’t own a Rank, purchase a rank in the Ranks Store
Step 2: Join The Lobby
Join the Minehut Lobby. Learn How
Step 3: Open the Ranks GUI
You can open the Ranks GUI in two ways:
- Interact with the Ranks NPC
- Open the compass menu via your hotbar and then click on the nametag icon
Step 4: Select a Rank
In the Ranks GUI, select ranks to equip them. You can see your equipped rank by hovering over the nametag in the top left.
Use Chat Ads (aka/ad) to Promote Your Server
Ranks give you access to send Chat Ads in the Minehut Lobby, which can be an effective way to promote your server and attract players.
Sending Chat Ads
In the Minehut Lobby, you can send Chat Ads in the chat using the /ad command. Format your message like the following: /ad ServerName message.
Customizing Chat Ads
You can customize your Chat Ads using color and formatting codes.

Limits
Everyone has a monthly limit on how many Chat Ads they can send based on their rank. In addition, Chat Ads can only be sent every 2 minutes.
FAQs
What are Ranks?
Paid Ranks purchased after March 14, 2023, are subscriptions that auto-renew every month as long as you have enough credits. You can manage your subscriptions from the Rank Shop.
I purchased a rank before the subscription ranks were added. What happened to it?
If you purchased a rank before the March 14, 2023 update, no worries, you still have it! These are now known as “OG Ranks” and can be managed in-game via the Ranks GUI. If you purchased a rank after March 14th, these are subscriptions that renew every month and will expire if you don’t have enough credit.
Will I keep my OG Rank after I subscribe to a new Paid Rank?
Yes, you will always have access to your OG Rank. After you have subscribed to a Paid Rank, navigate to the Ranks GUI in-game to equip your OG Rank or your Paid Rank. You will be able to showcase either of them.
Do my OG Rank benefits stack with new Paid Ranks?
Yes. Any perks you get with OG Ranks will stack with Paid Ranks. That means your Chat Ad message limit for your OG Rank will stack with the limit for your Paid Rank. your /ad benefits from OG Ranks will stack with new Paid Ranks.
Can I purchase another Rank to get more Chat Ads?
You can upgrade your rank to increase your Chat Ad (/ad) message limit. However, you cannot purchase the same rank to refresh your monthly limit – you need to wait for next month for your monthly count to reset.
