Minehut Rules – Minehut

Minehut is home to players from all over the world - server owners, builders, developers, and people who just want to have fun with friends. We love how diverse our community is, and these rules exist to keep it a great place for everyone.

By joining the network, you agree to these rules along with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You also agree to follow the rules of any underlying platforms you use, such as Discord's Terms of Service and Minecraft's EULA/MUG.

These rules apply everywhere on Minehut - in-game, on Discord, and on player servers. They are not exhaustive. Minehut (operated by GamerSafer) reserves the right to restrict or remove access to the network at any time for any behavior that disrupts our community, even if it isn't specifically listed below. Violations can result in penalties up to and including a permanent ban.

1. Accounts & Registration

You must be at least 13 years old to use Minehut. Anyone found to be underage will be permanently banned.
Account sharing is not allowed. Minehut is not responsible for damage caused by account sharing.
Buying, selling, or trading Minehut accounts, servers, or server names is not permitted.
Usernames, server names, MOTDs, and profiles must follow all rules on this page.
Compromised accounts, NFA accounts, or bot accounts are not allowed.
Using other accounts to evade punishments is not permitted.
The Minehut API may not be used, accessed, or exploited in any unauthorized manner.

2. Harassment & Bullying

Bullying, stalking, harassment, and intimidation are not tolerated in any form.
Continuing to message someone who has asked you to stop is not allowed.
Singling out users or groups for ridicule or abuse is not permitted.
Sexual harassment of any kind is prohibited.
Sharing anyone's personal information - real or fake - is not allowed, even when meant as a joke.
Asking users for personal info such as their age or location is not permitted.
Encouraging self-harm or telling users to hurt themselves - including abbreviations like "kys" - is prohibited.
Threatening to dox or swat anyone is not allowed.
Private message spam is not permitted.

3. Hate Speech & Discrimination

Demeaning, attacking, or using slurs against people based on their race or ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, political beliefs, disability, or other core characteristics is strictly prohibited.
Encouraging others to do so - directly or indirectly - is equally prohibited.
Hate symbols, extremist imagery, and content associated with hate groups are never allowed.

4. Threats & Dangerous Behavior

Threats of physical or sexual assault are not tolerated.
Threats of property damage are not permitted.
Threatening to reveal someone's personal information (doxing) is prohibited.
Threats of digital attacks, such as DDoS or botting, are not allowed.
Swatting threats are strictly prohibited.
Minehut may contact law enforcement over credible threats of harm.

5. Keep It PG

Profanity is not allowed - this includes misspellings, special characters, or other filter-bypass attempts, in any language.
Sexual jokes, references, or romantic content of any kind are not permitted.
Alcohol, drug, or tobacco references and depictions are prohibited.
Gore, graphic violence, and animal abuse imagery are not allowed.
Content glorifying war crimes or human rights violations is prohibited.
Inflammatory content involving real-world territorial or political conflicts is not permitted.
Political or religious discussions are not allowed.
Desecration of national or political symbols (e.g. flag burning) is prohibited.
Gross references to bodily functions are not permitted.
Song lyrics with inappropriate language may not be quoted.
Recreating real-world tragic events (mass shootings, natural disasters, human rights violations) on your server is prohibited.
Usernames and skins must also follow these guidelines. Players can be banned for inappropriate names or skins.

6. Illegal & Harmful Activities

Discussing, promoting, or depicting illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia is not allowed.
Sharing real-life bomb or weapon-making instructions is prohibited.
Gambling with real or virtual currency is not permitted.
Doxing and DDoS attacks are strictly prohibited.
Predatory behavior and grooming are not tolerated.
References to underage drinking are not allowed.

7. Child Safety

Keeping children safe is a core value at Minehut and GamerSafer. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy on anything that endangers minors. Violations result in a permanent ban with no exceptions, regardless of the user's age or claimed intent. For our guidelines, a minor is anyone under the age of 18.

Predatory behavior, grooming, or any attempt to isolate a minor from trusted adults (CSEA) is strictly prohibited.
Sexualizing minors in any way is not allowed.
Engaging in or soliciting sexual conversations with minors is prohibited.
Soliciting, sharing, or discussing sexual material involving minors is not permitted.
Sharing, requesting, or linking to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is strictly prohibited.
Making posts expressing attraction to or preference for minors is not allowed.
Seeking out minors to play with for predatory purposes is prohibited.
We report violations of these rules to the authorities.

8. Scams & Deception

Phishing links and scam links are not permitted.
Requesting another user's password or account access is not allowed.
Bots may not be used to advertise servers or inflate player counts.
Impersonating Minehut staff, using their rank, or copying the Minehut brand or logo is prohibited.
False advertising - such as promising free ranks or OP without delivering - is not allowed.
Creating fake /msg screenshots to make a server look more popular is prohibited.
Filing false reports against players, servers, or Minehut is not permitted.
Tricking or encouraging users into breaking the rules is not allowed.
Usernames may not be used to advertise a server.
Soliciting direct payments from users is not permitted.

9. Spam & Chat Rules

Repetitive or high-volume messaging in chat is not allowed.
Asking others to flood chat with a word, letter, or number is prohibited.
Mass pinging and ghost pinging on Discord are not permitted.
Channels must be used for their intended purpose.
Private message spam is not allowed.
Posting song lyrics in chat is not permitted.
Services and staff recruitment must be posted via /ad or the Job Board, not in general chat.
Active punishments may not be discussed in public chat. Please contact our Support Team for assistance.

10. Server Advertisements

All server advertisements must be posted using /ad in the lobby - this also applies to whitelisted servers.
Bots and auto-execute commands may not be used to post ads.
False advertising - such as promising free ranks you won't deliver - is not allowed.
Threats of any kind in ads are not permitted, even as a joke.
A maximum of 3 ads per server per minute is enforced.
Account sharing for the purpose of posting ads for extended periods is not allowed.
Paying or rewarding players for advertising your server, including server boost rewards, is prohibited.
Asking for server boosts in the lobby, SMP, or Discord is prohibited. You are permitted to ask players on your server to boost.

11. Player Servers

Minehut rules apply to all player servers, including those hosted externally. Minehut staff accepts reports from users/servers and may issue platform-wide punishments based on violations committed on a player server.

Server owners may enforce their own rules and punishments - but they may not contradict Minehut rules.
Server owners are responsible for any appeals of punishments issued on their own servers unless they were issued by Minehut staff.
Using or encouraging the use of bots, plugins, AFK clients, or other means to spoof/boost your player count is not permitted.
Suspended server names may not be moved to a new server - this is considered ban evasion.
Suspended servers may not be recreated, even under a new name or by redirecting players to them.
Servers must not disrupt the Minehut network (e.g., forcing players to run Minehut commands or blocking them from leaving).
Impersonating official Minehut servers, lobbies, or staff is prohibited.
AFK rewards are not allowed - play time rewards for active players are permitted.
Hacking and griefing may be permitted on your own server, but if you allow them, you forfeit the ability to report those players to Minehut.

12. Links & External Servers

External links are not allowed in general chat for player safety.
On your own server, you may share links to: your Discord, your server website or shop, and voting sites.
In Discord's Dev channels, you may share: SkriptHub docs, GitHub repos, official plugin pages, and relevant dev tools.
External servers must only connect to Minehut through the official supported method.
Multiple Minehut server listings pointing to the same external server are not permitted.
Suspended external servers may not reconnect through alternate accounts or servers.
Instructing players who joined via Minehut to leave and connect directly to an external server address is not allowed.

13. Staff & Community Conduct

Harassing, threatening, or attacking Minehut staff - in-game, on Discord, via DMs, or anywhere else - is not tolerated.
Staff decisions must be respected. If you believe a staff member acted unfairly, submit a report rather than retaliating.
Spamming staff with messages or pings - especially after a warning or punishment - is not allowed.
Constructive feedback is welcome. Sustained toxic complaints, rallying others against Minehut, or creating a hostile environment are not.
Using external platforms such as social media or Discord to attack Minehut or its community can still result in in-network punishments.

14. Cheating & Server Attacks

Cheats, hacks, and exploits are not permitted in lobby parkour, mini-games, Boop Arena, event servers, contest servers, or Minehut SMP.
Some hacks (like flight) are permitted in the lobby as long as they do not affect other players.
Joining a server through unauthorized or malicious means is not allowed.
Banning a server's owner from their own server is prohibited.
Using exploits to gain OP access on a server you do not own is not permitted.
Forcibly crashing a server is prohibited.
Deleting another server's files, worlds, or plugins is not allowed.
Distributing free copies of paid plugins is not permitted.

15. Reports & Appeals

Violations can be reported from lobby chat, in-game direct messages, Minehut SMP, player servers, or the Minehut Discord. You may submit reports and appeals by creating a Support Ticket.

Investigation results are not shared for privacy reasons.
If your server was suspended, check your email first, as warnings are typically sent before suspensions are issued.
Appeals must be submitted within 60 days of the punishment.
Only one appeal per punishment may be submitted - multiple submissions may result in a ticket system ban.
Only the punished player or server owner may submit an appeal. Third-party appeals are not accepted.
Punishments under one week and warnings are not appealable unless issued in error.
Submitting an appeal does not guarantee removal of the punishment. Evading a punishment, even while appealing, will result in additional punishments.
When submitting a report, include the server name (or where the violation happened) as well as the date and time of the offense.
If you have screenshots, please send them to speed up the investigation process. We are not able to take action based on screenshots alone; we will check the server and/or logs to verify.
Submitting false reports is against our rules and will result in a ban.

Rule Change Policy

These Rules may be amended, modified, or supplemented by Minehut officials periodically without notice. Minehut officials at all times may act with the necessary authority to preserve the best interests of Minehut. This power is not constrained by the lack of specific language in this document. Minehut officials may use any form of punitive actions at their disposal, including permanently banning across all platforms, against any entity whose conduct is not within the confines of the best interests of Minehut.
